Farm Specific Modules

Farm specific modules center on one operation at a time. From a large dairy to a small-scale dairy/cheese making operation, and grain processing to crop/animal integration, these modules get at the essence of each farming operation. They serve as a means to bring a farmer into the classroom to discuss his or her practices and philosophy. Though many farms overlap in the types of services they provide, each farm has been assigned a title that highlights their primary focus. Accompanying questions concern the farm as a whole, but also hone in on their specific emphasis area for further study. As such, this category allows teachers to choose a farm example based upon content in a manner that doesn't separate the topic from its context, offering instead a case study of how one emphasis area fits into a larger system.
