Day 16

Day 16. The first trifoliate leaf (star) (3 leaflets that are joined together) starts to unfold. Note: there are 2 axillary buds (arrow) and a tightly folded second trifoliate leaf. The folded second trifoliate leaf is covering the terminal (apical) meristem. The two buds will stay dormant and soon the second trifoliate will start to unfold and reveal the terminal meristem.
