Introduction - Basic Gene Inheritance

Once a new DNA sequence has inserted into the chromosome it becomes a stable part of the chromosome and will be replicated and passed on like a normal gene. Therefore we can use normal genetic principles to predict how transgenes will be passed on. This lesson will review some of the basic concepts that plant breeders must use every day to obtain successful and marketable lines.
