Standard Deviation and Standard Error
When collecting data, how do researchers like Dr. Wortman know they are collecting good quality data and know that their data is accurate and not disrupted by noise or environmental error? We can use math (or statistics) to help us learn how reliable Dr. Wortman's data is. In this case, we'll calculate the Standard Deviation and Standard Error of the data. With the data and calculations in our Excel sheet, we can create a box plot to help us visualize the data. Watch the following videos to learn more about this topic.
